Andorra is an independent country, with its own State, frontiers and a demanding Immigration Service when it comes to granting residence and work permits.
Our goal is to help everyone with personal drive and a willingness to make headway abroad with all matters connected with the administrative procedures necessary to establish a legal situation. The documentation required by the authorities is set out below together with the steps to be followed.
Steps to be followed:
1. Purchase the blue envelope marked “Sol.licitud d’autorització d’immigració per a actius residents” (Application for Immigration Authorisation for Working Residents) from the Immigration Service. It costs 1.50 Euro.
2. Obtain the personal documents listed below and in the documentation in the envelope, namely:
- Original and photocopy of your current ID card or valid passport.
- Certificate of your police record in both your country of origin and the country you were last resident in.
- Recent colour photograph (35x40mm).
- Photocopy of your rental contract or deed for your accommodation or else a certificate from the hotel where you are staying.
- Certificate of your marital status:
- unmarried: official certificate that you are unmarried or a sworn affidavit signed by the applicant (the official form will be provided at the Immigration Service).
- married: official wedding certificate or a photocopy of the Family Register.
- separated: photocopy of the court judgement ordering the separation.
- widowed: photocopy of the death certificate for the spouse.
- Curriculum. It is useful to attach photocopies of any diplomas cited. And in order to work in kitchens or restaurants, a photocopy of your Carnet de Manipulador de Alimentos (Food Service Qualification).
3. As soon as you have everything ready, contact the Human Resources Department of the Plaza Hotels Andorra and we will help you to complete the forms and organize the dossier, a task that may be complex the first time around. After that, all you have to do is deliver the envelope to the Immigration Service.
4. The Immigration Service will give you an appointment for you to attend the "Nostra Senyora de Meritxell" Hospital in order to have a blood sample and a chest X-ray taken. You will also be given an appointment for an examination with the Immigration Service Doctor, who will measure you, weigh you, check your eyesight, check your reflexes, etc.
5. Within a week or ten days, you will receive your Residence and Work Permit that will let you live and work in Andorra.
Welcome.
